Feelings On A Monday

We’ve been discussing feelings these past few weeks. We looked at joy on Christmas Eve, disappointment last week and anger yesterday. Because of the impending winter weather event later today, I decided to make it an early day and was up at 5:30 AM. I figured I would get into the office early, get a bunch of work done before heading home just before the sleet/ice arrives.

Well, God had different plans for me today :). I was surprised to see my oldest son, Ben awake. He does occasionally work early days, but I know he’s not in until 2 today. So he talked me into going for “All You Can Eat Pancakes” at our local International House of Pancakes. So there was some joy in my heart (near my empty stomach that just happens to LOVE pancakes).

We arrived to find that they were being remolded and would open tomorrow….so close…disappointment was then felt…

Breakfast would, however happen, with no anger (fortunately) as we just went next door for a quiet breakfast at Chick-Fil-A. As we were eating Ben noticed the gorgeous sunrise and snapped this picture.

Thank you Lord for my son, for a new week, a new day and your beauty that surrounds us.

See you Sunday!

Thankful that every day is a new beginning. Even more thankful for his presence (in the sunrise) reminding us that life’s twists and turns can lead to beautiful blessings. Hope you have a wonderful week!
